This talk is postponed until 2022

Please join in us on Thursday, September 9th to learn about the Gloucester Marine Genomic Institute’s cutting-edge research and the power of marine genomics to address human health. Dr. Andrea Bodnar, the Donald G. Comb Science Director at GMGI, will share her fascinating research on the red sea urchin’s incredible life span and the American Lobster’s cancer resistance, detailing what it means for understanding human health and aging. Refreshments at 6:30, talk begins at 7 p.m.

We are in need of hosts for the Talks,  which are generally hosted by one or two members who share the responsibility for refreshments. If you would like to be involved with helping to host the Thursday Night Talk Series, please contact Shelley Vassallo at

For those new SBYC members or members and guests who have not had the opportunity to attend a talk, the format is relaxed and informal. The talks begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings with refreshments. They are 45 minutes to an hour long and not limited to boating. We try to appeal to a variety of interests.
